The Diana RWS 48 air rifle, not for the faint-hearted is an impressive gun.
This gun, made with German engineering that is exquisitely crafted, stands out in both performance and appearance.
It is a full-sized, powerful sporting air gun, suitable for small game hunting, pest management, and plinking.
Diana RWS 48 – Gun type
This is a spring pistol gun.
A spring-powered gun has incredible accuracy and is easy to use.
(This post will provide more details on the 5 types and uses of air rifles you must know before you buy.
Diana RWS 48 can also be used as a side lever gun.
You must pull the lever downwards and hold the gun upwards to cock the gun.
Once you have done that, insert the pellet and push the lock down to release the lever.
It may seem complicated at first but after a couple of times, you’ll be able to work it perfectly.
The RWS 48 allows you to shoot as much since you won’t be worried about running out of gun powder like some of the other rifles .
Wooden stock
Beautiful beech wood is used to make the stock.
Beech stock offers many benefits over synthetic stock. See more in this post
You can shoot the Diana RWS 48 with ease, regardless of whether you're a lefty (or righty) or both.

It comes with a stunning sight
The Diana 48 is a stunning sight.
The front sight rides are mounted on a dovetail, and are secured with a dove screw.
The dovetail is elegant and attractive, and allows you to target your target directly.
The rear sight features RWS all metal standard and a spring-loaded ball bearing that allows it to stay in place.
It allows you adjust for windage (allowing to adjust sight left or right).
Also, you can adjust the elevation of your sight (allowing you to adjust it up or down).
If you like extra magnification then you’ll love that the Diana 48 comes with a standard RWS brand scope to provide extra magnification and improved accuracy.
This post will provide more information about the various types of airgun sights available and which one you should choose.
T05 trigger for Equipped
This trigger, which can be adjusted in two stages, is made of plastic (weapons quality plastic).
So don’t worry about the trigger snapping back on your fingers in cold weather.
With a trigger pull of two pounds 13 ounces, it’s probably the best trigger for an air rifle.
The T05 is adjustable so you can be sure to modify it to your liking, even though I don’t see where any changes would be necessary.
Power, speed, accuracy and velocity
VelocityRWS Diana 48's maximum velocity is 1100 FPS (feet/second) for the 0.177 and 0.22 cals, respectively.
These are much higher than the velocities of other air rifles.
These were the results of our chronony tests

The RWS Diana 48's velocity is affected by the size of the caliber, but it is the same for pellet grains. This is an impressive quality.
You should choose the right caliber and size pellet for your application.
(For more on the differences between .177 & .22 and which jobs they do best, see this post.)
Accuracy: RWS Diana 48 is a highly regarded instrument for accuracy.
Five JSB Exact pellets were shot from 25 meters away. They measured 0.875 inches edge to edge (just below 0.7-inch in the center).
That’s certainly good enough for defending the garden and hitting small hunting targets.
Fun fact: The Bullseye Airgun Club in Louisiana had a large contingent of shooters who shot 48s or 54s in field competitions.
PowerOn testing, I measured 22.73 feet-pounds of muzzle power on a 0.22 cal model 48 while shooting 14.3 grain Crosman premiers.
Noise: The RWS Diana 48 is extremely quiet.
In all the reviews from customers, there was not one complaint about the noise.
This means that it won’t be too loud for indoor target practice and can be taken out to the hunting field for a nice stealthy hunt.

RWS 48 Price
The RWS48 is priced at around $400
It's a fair price for a gun with an attractive design, high accuracy and that can last generations.
There are many listings online, with different prices. However, the one I found is the best deal among e-commercial sites such as Amazon, PyramydAir, and Walmart.
