Because CO2-powered air guns are so temperature dependent, the muzzle velocity is a complex topic.

The CO2 pressure rises with increasing temperature.

Because the temperature is increasing by 2 degrees Fahrenheit, the muzzle velocity will also increase as CO2 levels rise.

The result of increased muzzle velocity combined with an increase temperature is clearly shown in the table.

The growth is still limited and it is impossible to say that it will grow indefinitely.

At around 95 degrees Fahrenheit, there is increased pressure in the “valve lock”, and the muzzle velocity begins to fall very quickly.

It is therefore accurate to say that CO2-powered air rifles can shoot at a maximum temperature of 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

Manufacturers recommend that after heating your valve lock, it cool down.

This will reduce the pressure and allow you shoot again. 

JSB Jumbo Exact Pellets had the highest accuracy using the Hammerli 850.

This air rifle doesn't care about pellets, and it can shoot with great accuracy at a wide range.

Consistency

With JSB jumbo pellets, the standard deviation was lowered to 4.2 FPS. 

The Hammerli 850 AirMagnum recorded a standard deviation of 8.7 FPS with GAMO platinum PBA Pellets.

This was its finest performance. 

The trigger pull's weight was very stable, and HAM found no variations. This is an exceptional and rare find.

Loudness

It’s worth noting that the HAM team expected the sound to be much louder because it is high power CO2,

So the noise still doesn’t meet the norm for this type of gun.

You cannot compare the Hammerli 850 AirMagnum air rifle with .22 LR firearms in terms of the noise of course – it’s much quieter, even in .177 caliber.

This air rifle is not quiet enough for shooters looking to have a quiet rifle.
